Japan Bombing Map

The Japanese made a surprise attack on the military bases on the Island of Oahu on Dec. 7, 1941. Bombing the airfields and planes to stop any air engagement from the U.S., they set their sites on the the ships docked in Pearl Harbor. Even though, their initial target (aircraft carriers) was not present, they descended on the docked battleships at Ford Island; now known as “Battleship Row.”
